Heading into the fourth quarter of the year (it's coming!):
- Organize your marketing materials around issues that are important for the first half of 2010.
- Take a look at other web sites and blogs. Are you minimally competitive and, preferably, distinct, even if not cutting edge? These are your credibility tools.
- What are your specific plans to take intellectual capital our of your head and translate it into intellectual property that can be purchased?
- Whom would you like to add to your circle of friends, advisors, mastermind groups, and so on? How will you approach them?
- What do you need to abandon that is producing low or no ROI in your: associations, reading, travels, relationships, development, clients, etc.?
- Is there someone or something you think can really help you but the "timing has never been right." Make it right in the near future.
- Spend at least 70 percent of your efforts working on the assumption that the economic recovery isn't coming but has already begun.
- Are your photos, bio, awards, copyrights, trademarks, brands and so on up to date, reflective of your value next year, and representing you well?
- Have you mapped out your vacations for 2010 yet and put them on your calendar so that you can plan around them?
- If you're not better off than last year at this time, why is that and what you can change? Don't spend time blaming external sources or conditions.
- What do you need to read, personally and/or professionally, that you've "never gotten around to"? Buy it and start it.
- What can you do to help someone or some group? If you are not volunteering time and/or money, find some people who need your help and begin providing it.
