Margaret Haas has run The Haas Associates, Inc., her own U.S-Japan cross-cultural executive recruiting and consulting business, for over 20 years.
An innovative consultant, consummate networker and master trainer, Margaret Haas was early on the Japan cross-cultural business scene for foreign companies entering the Japanese market advising them on market entry, human resources, and local operations as well as for Japanese companies entering the U.S.
In recent years she has since done high-end highly consultative recruiting in the U.S. as well, and in multiple industries including finance, manufacturing, high tech and consumer products.
Before that, she worked on Wall Street in Asian finance for seven years. She is fluent in the Japanese language; she has a B.A. from Stanford and an M.A. from Harvard in East Asian Studies. She has spent much of her adult life associated with Japan as a student and businessperson and on and off as a resident.
Always interested in innovation in the human aspects of the workplace, Ms. Haas has recently started another new enterprise, Buddhas in Business: Compassion and Truth in the Workplace emphasizing unique and practical productivity coaching for individual executives and corporations worldwide. This business is a culmination of Margaret's 30-year study of Tibetan Buddhism and other Eastern spiritual traditions, her four-year clinical fellowship with the Gestalt Associates of Pyschotherapy in New York City, and her in-depth studies with noted Chilean business philosopher cum entrepreneur and early email pioneer Fernanco Flores from 1984 to 1990.
