About Alan Fortier: Alan Fortier has over 25 years of industrial experience as a premier strategy consultant, educator and manager. He has consulted to businesses globally on strategy and implementation for over 20 years, including large multinationals such as IBM, Kodak, Phillips Electronics, Becton Dickinson, Atofina Chemical, Dow Chemical, Akzo Nobel, BP Amoco, Arco, Toyota Material Handling and Dover Corporation, as well as hundreds of smaller businesses. He has led projects in nearly every region of the world. His unique blend of skills in strategy development, change management and process facilitation has led to an outstanding track record for achieving fast, sustainable results and has made him a much sought after resource. In 1988 Alan formed Fortier & Associates, Inc., a consulting firm dedicated to helping industrial companies achieve intensely competitive strategies with a strong focus on execution and immediate results. The firm has exceeded project specific profit improvement targets on 100% of its last 30 projects. Alan's additional professional accomplishments and affiliations include: - Speaker, seminar leader and training program developer in the areas of business strategy development, marketing implementation, mergers & acquisitions and pricing strategies, areas where he has authored several proprietary documents - Worked with the U.S. International Trade Commission as an expert on the impact of imports on domestic prices. - Lecturer at Columbia Business School's MBA and Executive Education programs on strategy, marketing, pricing and consulting - Director for Graham Corporation (GHM) and member of their audit and compensation committees Prior to forming Fortier & Associates over 20 years ago, Alan was a manager at the New York based consulting firm Ayers, Whitmore & Co., a McKinsey spin-off, where he headed their pricing strategy practice. Prior to that, he held various management positions with Dupont. He has a B.S. degree in chemical engineering, summa cum laude, from Cooper Union and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
